Template:Character

Leon is the pilot of the Space Angler, first appearing in Lap 27 - Beast Hunter. He was also a former Falcon House employee for a short time, but ultimately left Mute City.

Appearance

As a human, Leon appears physically shorter than most of the cast except for Lucy and Clank Hughes. He also has long, light brown hair with a white streak.

Leon's wolf beast form appeared three times throughout the episode.

  • Beastman confronting Leon on the roof of a building.
  • Leon's pilot eyecatch.
  • After Leon helped Ryu by flipping over Lucy's overturnedElegance Liberty to rescue her.

As a wolf beast, Leon had a ragged tail. His head also morphed into a wolf's, and he has a prominent white bang going over his left eye. In this form, Leon's strength becomes superhuman. He was shown to be able to constantly evade Beastman's pistol shots by backflipping and jump from one building to another when escaping him. He was also able to flip over an F-Zero machine by himself. Despite the transformation being triggered through adrenaline and him showing a wolf's behavior such as howling during a full moon, Leon is shown to behave the same way he does as a human while in this form, implying he has control over the form's otherwise frightening appearance.

Personality

Leon is shown to be a gentle, yet timid young man. There is some implication of clumsiness, as Leon breaks some coffee cups near the beginning of the episode in the Falcon House. Even in his beast form, his kind heart remains.

History

F-Zero Farukon Densetsu (Anime)

2202

Leon appeared in Lap 27 - Beast Hunter. He was part beast, belonging to a species of beasts once known for their carnivorous habits and nature in the past."[1]

Leon was still targeted by Beastman because of a personal vendetta on the hunter's behalf, in which Beastman's family was attacked by Leon's species.[1]

Having worked at the Falcon House while also being an F-Zero pilot, Leon met Lucy Liberty and developed a crush on her. Unbeknownst to everyone, Leon was not actually a full human. He had kept the human appearance to avoid Beastman, but Ryu Suzaku found out. Leon explained his reasons for hiding, to Ryu, and tried to avoid having anyone else figure out his secret until the Grand Prix.[1]

When Lucy's machine flipped over during a race, Leon assisted in the rescue effort but overexerted his energy and transformed into beast. Beastman came across this sight but decided to let him go after a standoff with Ryu, who had defended Leon. In the end, Beastman let Leon go, so long as they would never cross paths again.[1]

F-Zero GP Legend (GBA game)

In the F-Zero GP Legend GBA game, Leon is a playable character with his machine, the Space Angler. He is not featured in the story mode.

Leon (English Translation): A pilot from the planet Zou. Leon is part of a race that normally looks human, but, in extreme conditions such as F-Zero, transforms into more animal-like humanoids. Leon's appearance in this form is that of a wolf, whose instincts he harnesses to gain an advantage while racing.

Trivia

  • Leon's age of 16 in F-Zero Climax is derived from his Main Universe counterpart's age in F-Zero GX, but the Anime Universe Leon's personal information is never really given in the anime.
    • His crush, Lucy Liberty, is 20 years old in F-Zero Climax, but neither of their F-Zero Climax pilot profiles mention each other.
    • In the anime, aside from complimenting Leon on his looks and teasing him by saying that the Falcon House would get more female customers because of him, Lucy claims that she and Leon are only friends.
      • It is also not known if Leon in the actual anime is 16, as his personal details are never given. Neither are Lucy's personal details.
  • Leon's secret of being a beast was spoiled during the episode's eyecatches.
  • In a rough translation of Leon's F-Zero Climax pilot profile, he is stated to be part of a species who can each become a different kind of animal, but Leon is a wolf beast from the planet Zou. Zou is another element reused from Leon's Main Universe counterpart, but was never mentioned in the anime.
  • Leon's birthday in F-Zero Climax is the same date that the game itself was released in Japan.
