FZFW:Dr. Clash (Anime)
- This article is about the Anime Universe Dr. Clash. For the Main Universe character with the same name, see Dr. Clash.
Dr. Clash is the pilot of the Crazy Bear, and a mechanic for the Mobile Task Force. He later took on an apprentice by the name of Lucy Liberty.
It is implied that he is also close friends with Dr. Stewart, referring to him as "partner" during Lap 30, as Dr. Stewart attempted to explain his reasons for wanting to take responsibility for Blood Falcon's creation.
History
F-Zero Farukon Densetsu (Anime)
Pre-2201
Dr. Clash was the mechanic of the Mobile Task Force, and was tasked with implementing a Reactor Might in the machine. per Captain Falcon's instructions.
2201
In Lap 01 - Legendary Start, he had just finished installing the Reactor Might into the Dragon Bird. He had little time to admire his work, as Ryu Suzaku took it for a ride despite having just barely awoken from coldsleep.
During the beginning of Lap 3 - Apprentice Trooper Lucy, Lucy was assigned as Dr. Clash's apprentice before eventually becoming an official member of the Task Force after her performance.
2202
When Ryu attempted to test the limits of his machine during Lap 23 after receiving advice from 'Bart Lemming' about turning the safety off, it was Dr. Clash who would end up repairing the Dragon Bird. However, Clash warned Ryu that although he could easily fix the machine, he could not fix Ryu if something were to happen to him. Clash had recognized what Ryu was attempting to do, and confessed that it was ultimately possible, but could only be used once. He attempted to dissuade Ryu from pursuing a dangerous method.
During Lap 39, as Blood Falcon infiltrated the Galaxy Police Headquarters, the entire Task Force became alert. During a test run of the Crazy Bear and Elegance Liberty, Dr. Clash was injured by a fake Lucy, which turned out to be Blood Falcon in disguise. Though Jody Summer and Dr. Stewart questioned why Lucy would attack Clash, Clash stated that he knew that it wasn't the real Lucy, and then received medical care from Dr. Stewart for his injuries.
In Lap 40, Dr. Clash and Lucy attempted to show off their giant robot Galaxy Runner transformation idea to their superior, Jody Summer. Unfortunately for them, Jody stated that the idea was against certain regulations.
Despite initially warning Ryu during Lap 23 - Coming Through! Spin Booster!! about the dangers of the Boost Fire technique, by Lap 50, Dr. Clash and Lucy would provide adjustments in the Dragon Bird to make space for another Reactor Might. It turned out that Captain Falcon had taken Blood Falcon's Reactor Might from Lap 38 and made sure that it reached Ryu. Ryu then tested his machine after Dr. Clash stated that the power of two Reactor Mights were unpredictable.
2207
Although Dr. Clash wasn't a participant in the new 2207 Grand Prix during Lap 51's epilogue, he was seen besides Clank Hughes's father, Roy Hughes, and Clank's friend, a now older Alias.
F-Zero GP Legend (GBA game)
Dr. Clash is a playable character with his machine, the Crazy Bear. He is featured in the non-canon Story Mode, having to be escorted and then rescued by Captain Falcon from Zoda and Black Shadow. He is safe and sound by the end of Captain Falcon's story mode, with Jody Summer commending Falcon for his work and keeping Clash's 'invention' safe as well.

Dr. Clash (English Translation): The mechanic for the Mobile Task Force and the designer of Ryu's Dragon Bird machine. Despite his appearance, he has a gentle personality, so the team puts a great deal of trust in him. He sometimes pilots a machine himself during races. The mechanical arms strapped to his back are of his own invention. |
Note: Dr. Clash's being the apparent designer of the Dragon Bird contradicts the anime, which states that Clash only installed the Reactor Might. The Dragon Bird's true origins are unknown, much like the Black Bull and Blue Falcon, which it is closely related to.

Trivia
- It is not known what exactly Dr. Clash's 'invention' in the F-Zero GP Legend GBA game is. The game is also loosely based on the anime and released only 8 episodes into the original JP air time.
- It cannot be the Dragon Bird, as Ryu already appears in Captain Falcon's story mode, where this invention is mentioned.
