Welcome to our wiki, and thank you for your contributions! There's a lot to do around here, so we hope you'll stay with us and make many more improvements.

Recent changes is a great first stop, because you can see what other people are editing right this minute, and where you can help.
Questions? You can ask at the Skype chat, the IRC chat, or on the "discussion" page associated with each article, or post a message on a sysop's talk page!
Need help? The F-Zero Wiki help guide has an outline of the site, and pages to help you learn how to edit.

We're really happy to have you here, and look forward to working with you!

Screwdriver

Am I doing this right? I've never really done talk pages before. I'm the newbie, Screwdriver. I want to ask if I can create pages on individual episodes of the anime, since I've been watching it on Youtube. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Screwdriver (talk · contributions).

  1. On talk pages, always sign posts with four tildes (~~~~). If you want to create a new section, use the "+" link at the top, beside the"edit" button.
  2. Yes, of course, feel free to start working on anime articles. We really need someone here to help out on that. --Moydow T 17:45, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll get started right away! And thanks for the signing memo. I'm very new to talk pages. Screwdriver 15:58, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

Peanut64

Just wanted to let you know that I'm Peanut64, and I'm here to help. Wraith

Welcome aboard! Thank you for helping out! Tacopill 20:24, 17 August 2011 (UTC).
Do you like what I did to Mute City? If so then you should protect the template or something. Wraith
It looks good. Thank you very much. Tacopill 22:20, 17 August 2011 (UTC).
I replaced the blue background with a periwinkle-type color if that's all right, the former was too strong and bright to read text against IMO. ~SuperHamster Talk 00:00, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
Looks great! Wraith
Ditto! Tacopill 01:28, 21 August 2011 (UTC).

Skype

If you want to talk about the wiki with me, I'll be on Skype. Wraith

Sounds good. Tacopill 22:20, 17 August 2011 (UTC).

You're welcome!

If there is anything specific that I could help with, don't hesitate to ask! In the meantime, I'll just work on what I come across. Popenotorious 21:22, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

Sounds good. If I think of anything, I will inform you. Tacopill 21:27, 4 September 2011 (UTC).

Autopatrol Group

Thank you for adding me to this group. I've read up on and understand the associated rights at the User group rights page. Popenotorious 22:15, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

Sounds good, and you are welcome. :). Tacopill 23:57, 25 September 2011 (UTC).

Infobox/World

I took a look at the Infobox/World and added some fields. Other than these, maybe we should have a field for appearances outside of F-Zero (Super Smash Bros., the anime), or maybe one for notable denizens (ie. Captain Falcon lives in Port Town)? Popenotorious 18:45, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

That sounds like some good ideas, both what you added, and what you suggested. :). Tacopill 19:12, 1 October 2011 (UTC).
They're added now. If I can do anything else, let me know. :) Popenotorious 19:19, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

Re:thank you

No probz Tacopill, I'll do my best to improve the wiki to meet NIWA standards. -The Forgotten Beast 04:36, 21 October 2011 (UTC)

sounds good *cheers*. Tacopill 01:01, 22 October 2011 (UTC).

Vandalism

Multiple IP addresses are vandalizing the wiki. I logged on a few minutes ago, and have tried to undo what changes I can, but the IPs have created multiple articles (which I cannot delete). Is it possible to block anonymous edits, at least temporarily? These edits have been going on for several hours and show no signs of stopping. Popenotorious 14:20, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

I am noticing the vandalism, and will see to getting the pages deleted.
Anonymous edits (anon-edits) temporarily disabled.
I am also talking with the rest of the staff over the possibility of closing anon-edits permanently. Tacopill 20:00, 7 December 2011 (UTC).

Wiki Fork Help!

Hi, Punchout!! Wiki is wanting to fork, too! Is there any person you know who can help my wiki? --Starphoria 00:16, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

I am going to put together a list of contacts that I have, all of them being people who are willing to offer hosting. Tacopill 01:05, 8 December 2011 (UTC).
A host on a wikifarm? I don't want another dictatorship like on Wikia. Or Independent hosting? I need more contributors... --Triphoria (C·E) 21:52, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
They are all Independent hosters, like myself. I host WikiBound, Fire Emblem Wiki and SEIWA. Tacopill 18:06, 10 December 2011 (UTC).
Hm... If you hear anyone about Kid Icarus or Punch Out!! Wiki please let me know! --Triphoria (C·E) 03:27, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
Will do. Tacopill 01:55, 18 December 2011 (UTC).

F-Zero GP voice actors

I noticed a few red links for voice actors on the F-Zero: GP Legend page, should I make articles for them or just link them to an external site with their info? -The Forgotten Beast 00:35, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

Depends: Do any of them make special contributions to the series? does the series influence their careers in a major or minor way? and questions like that. Tacopill 01:54, 18 December 2011 (UTC).
I'll look into it. -The Forgotten Beast 02:04, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

The only one that seemed of significant importance was Eric Stuart, however his importance was just as a voice actor in numerous Nintendo works rather than exclusively for the F-Zero series, so I guess he doesn't qualify either. Also mind if I ask what is left for us to do for the F-Zero wiki to become part of NIWA and why are NIWA forums not working? -The Forgotten Beast 18:47, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

Eric Stuart, if he is important to multiple Nintendo franchises, probably would be best for NintendoWiki to be linked to. If you have info on him, please contibute there on it. :).
We plan applying for membership when I have completed staff training, and we were trying to get the database updated for us to convert over to vBulletin, when something went wrong and messed the database up. Archaic is working on seeing if he can fix it and complete the update.
Tacopill 19:42, 24 December 2011 (UTC).
Understood then Taco boss. -The Forgotten Beast 19:57, 24 December 2011 (UTC)
Sounds good :). Tacopill 20:20, 24 December 2011 (UTC).

Computer Broke

Yeah, my laptop is pretty much broke, I've currently been editing on my phone, and I plan to get a new laptop hopefully on Wednesday, until then, I probably won't be on Skype or anything. Sorry if this caused any inconvenience... :/ --Starphoria (C·E) 02:34, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

Sorry to hear it and it is ok. Come back when you are next able and good luck with getting a new laptop. Tacopill 02:57, 11 March 2012 (UTC).

PL

Project Links appear to be set up, but they don't work. I've put them on all the relevant pages, but they don't show up (I've tried to default skin, MonoBook, and Vector, and none make them show up). On a completely unrelated note, Special:Preferences's title on the page itself shoes up as "the player's Preferences" for me due to this and me not having specified my real name. --SnorlaxMonster 12:07, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

The preferences thing is actually a "flaw" of sorts in the extension; it relies on your talk page existing to work. Nothing to do with whether or not you specify a real name: if not, it defaults to your username. I'm constantly trying to work out a more foolproof method than relying on talk pages, but I've had no success yet. The PL is more Tacopill's area, but I might have a look later and see if I can work it out. Most likely, it's related to the upgrade to MediaWiki 1.18. --Moydow T 20:01, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for informing me of the error. I believe that I have fixed it. Please double check to make sure. Tacopill 00:19, 20 March 2012 (UTC).
Yeah, PL are working now. Thanks. As for the preferences issue, why not just use {{CURRENTUSER}} rather than {{RealMe}}? --SnorlaxMonster 13:24, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
Because {{RealMe}} shows your real name if you've it set, and your username (i.e. what {{CURRENTUSER}} would output) if you don't. --Moydow T 18:15, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I know it does, but surely your preferences are much more related to your username than your real name. --SnorlaxMonster 06:46, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

Lylat Wiki

I would like to point out to you that, not only is this site and Icaruspedia suffering from this spambot wave, but Lylat Wiki's getting it too. Either you and the other admins could become more active on there, or you could entrust me with adminship there. I've got a good CV in that respect, I am an administrator on Icaruspedia, and I am also a dedicated user (and rollbacker) on SmashWiki. Living in British timezones, we would basically be able to have an admin active at all times on that site. I could even administrate here if you aren't getting enough help, but I feel Lylat Wiki needed bringing to your attention moreso. ToastUltimatum 15:11, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I am currently not aware of anyone who could become active there. I myself, can't right now, due to personal issues. But I can promote you...since there really isn't anyone else.
If you have any ideas on how to improve LW, please bring them up (if major) or just implement them (if minor).
Tacopill 22:05, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
If you hadn't already noticed, Moydow upgraded me to admin here too. Right, time to get deleting some spam. ToastUltimatum 22:09, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
Sounds good, and thank you. Tacopill 22:14, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
Also, would you mind helping out NintendoWiki? Tacopill
Nintendo Wiki isn't getting hampered by spambots at the moment, I think for the time being I'll have my hands full fighting vandals on Icaruspedia, F-Zero Wiki and Lylat Wiki, while making edits to SmashWiki and Robot Wars Wiki at the same time. I could maybe put some effort into it in the future, but right now, I'm a little busy. ToastUltimatum 22:49, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
Not a problem. Just thought I throw it out there.
Thank you for all your help with everything.
